HeyREMVA Privacy Policy

HeyREMVA is designed to help users assess suspicious messages, emails, screenshots, photographs and other communications for signs of scams, phishing or fraud.
Information you choose to submit
HeyREMVA only analyses information that you actively choose to submit. This may include pasted text, screenshots, photographs, or text extracted from images.
How your information is used
Submitted content is processed solely to provide the scam analysis you request, including language detection, translation, risk assessment, explanations, warning signs and recommended next steps.
Image and text processing
Text may be extracted from screenshots and photographs using Apple technologies on the device. The resulting text, or text you paste directly, may then be sent securely to the HeyREMVA backend service for analysis.
Third-party processing
HeyREMVA uses a backend service hosted by Render and may use OpenAI services to analyse submitted content. These services process the information only as necessary to provide the requested analysis.
No account required
HeyREMVA does not currently require users to create an account or profile.
Data retention
HeyREMVA is not designed to build a permanent history of the messages you analyse. Submitted content is used to generate a response and is not intentionally stored by the app as a personal message archive.
Sensitive information
Users should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information, such as passwords, full payment card details, security codes, or other confidential information.
Official website links
Where HeyREMVA recognises an organisation, any “official website” button shown in the app uses a trusted address stored by the app. It does not use links extracted from the suspicious message itself.
Accuracy and limitations
HeyREMVA provides guidance based on scam and phishing warning signs. It cannot guarantee that a message is genuine or fraudulent. Users should independently verify important communications, especially where money, passwords, security codes or personal information are involved.
Children
HeyREMVA is not specifically directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page.
